About Us
Established by the Texas Legislature, GBRA was first created in 1933 as a water conservation and reclamation district and a public corporation called the Guadalupe River Authority, later reauthorized as the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority.
GBRA provides stewardship for the water resources in its ten county statutory district. GBRA works with communities to prepare for growth through continuous development of water and wastewater planning by providing more than 57 million gallons of high quality, reliable water per day to utilities with the capacity to treat 9 million gallons of wastewater per day. GBRA works with customers, teachers, and students to increase awareness and appreciation of the water and natural resources in the Guadalupe River Basin. A variety of materials and formats are used to communicate information including free education programs that meet all state mandated requirements, tours and guest speakers.
